A RESOLUTION

 

1Observing the week of September 17 through 23, 2014, as
2"Constitution Week" in Pennsylvania, and commending the
3National Pike Chapter of the Daughters of the American
4Revolution for its patriotic support of this observance in
5our Commonwealth.

6WHEREAS, The National Society of the Daughters of the
7American Revolution was founded in Washington, DC, in 1890 and
8chartered by Congress in 1896; and

9WHEREAS, The society consists of women descended directly
10from individuals who aided in establishing American independence
11throughout the period of the American Revolution, and it strives
12to promote historic preservation, patriotic endeavors and
13education; and

14WHEREAS, The National Pike Chapter of the Daughters of the
15American Revolution has developed a strong reputation for the
16very highest quality of service and adherence to the principles
17of fairness, reliability and integrity, and it has become a
18leading organization in its region; and

19WHEREAS, The National Pike Chapter of the Daughters of the

1American Revolution joins with its national society and other
2patriotic organizations and citizens throughout our nation to
3observe "Constitution Week" during the week of September 17
4through 23, 2014, and it encourages all to take part in this
5observance of our Federal Constitution; therefore be it

6RESOLVED, That the Senate observe the week of September 17
7through 23, 2014, as "Constitution Week" in Pennsylvania, and
8commend the National Pike Chapter of the Daughters of the
9American Revolution for its patriotic support of this observance
10in our Commonwealth.
