| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania |
2 | Consolidated Statutes, in trade and commerce, providing for |
3 | the offense of fraudulent airbags. |
4 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
5 | hereby enacts as follows: |
6 | Section 1. Title 18 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated |
7 | Statutes is amended by adding a section to read: |
8 | § 7332. Fraudulent airbags. |
9 | (a) Offense defined.--It is unlawful for any person to |
10 | knowingly install or reinstall on a vehicle a fraudulent airbag. |
11 | (b) Grading.--Any person who violates subsection (a) commits |
12 | a misdemeanor of the third degree. |
13 | (c) Definitions.--As used in this section, the following |
14 | words and phrases shall have the meanings given to them in this |
15 | subsection: |
16 | "Fraudulent airbag." Any item or object, other than an |
17 | airbag that was designed in accordance with Federal safety |

1 | regulations for the make, model and year of motor vehicle, that |
2 | is part of the inflatable restraint system for the motor |
3 | vehicle. |
4 | Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days. |
