| AN ACT |
| |
1 | Amending Title 4 (Amusements) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated |
2 | Statutes, further providing for the definition of "gross |
3 | terminal revenue"; and providing for the definition of |
4 | "promotional credits." |
5 | The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania |
6 | hereby enacts as follows: |
7 | Section 1. The definition of "gross terminal revenue" in |
8 | section 1103 of Title 4 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated |
9 | Statutes, amended January 7, 2010 (P.L.1, No.1), is amended and |
10 | the section is amended by adding a definition to read: |
11 | § 1103. Definitions. |
12 | The following words and phrases when used in this part shall |
13 | have the meanings given to them in this section unless the |
14 | context clearly indicates otherwise: |

16 | "Gross terminal revenue." The total of: |
17 | (1) Cash or cash equivalent wagers received by a slot |

1 | machine minus the total of: |
2 | (i) Cash or cash equivalents paid out to players as |
3 | a result of playing a slot machine, whether paid manually |
4 | or paid out by the slot machine. |
5 | (ii) Cash or cash equivalents paid to purchase |
6 | annuities to fund prizes payable to players over a period |
7 | of time as a result of playing a slot machine. |
8 | (iii) Any personal property distributed to a player |
9 | as a result of playing a slot machine. This does not |
10 | include travel expenses, food, refreshments, lodging or |
11 | services. |
12 | (2) Cash received as entry fees for slot machine |
13 | contests or slot machine tournaments. |
14 | The term does not include counterfeit cash or tokens; coins or |
15 | currency of other countries received in slot machines, except to |
16 | the extent that the coins or currency are readily convertible to |
17 | cash; or cash taken in a fraudulent act perpetrated against a |
18 | slot machine licensee for which the licensee is not reimbursed. |
19 | No deduction from gross terminal revenue shall be allowed for |
20 | promotional credits or free play. |

22 | "Promotional credits." Credits given by a licensed entity |
23 | and used by players allowing limited free play of slot machines. |

25 | Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately. |
