AN ACT
1 Providing for the submission to the electors of the Commonwealth
2 of a nonbinding referendum relating to the reduction of the
3 spending of money on nuclear weapons and foreign military
4 intervention.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. At the municipal or general election next
8 following the effective date of this act, a nonbinding
9 referendum shall be placed upon the ballot for consideration by
10 the electors.
11 Section 2. The question shall be in substantially the
12 following form:
13 Shall more Federal funds be made available for local
14 jobs, improving programs such as education, housing and
15 health care, rebuilding our industry and repairing our
16 transportation and water systems, by significantly
17 reducing the amount of our tax dollars spent on nuclear
18 weapons and foreign military intervention, in that way
1 promoting jobs with peace?
2 Section 3. The election shall be held in accordance with the
3 act of June 3, 1937 (P.L.1333, No.320), known as the
4 Pennsylvania Election Code, and the results thereof shall be
5 disseminated to the press and the general public by the
6 Department of State as soon as practicable.
7 Section 4. This act shall take effect immediately.
