AN ACT 1 Amending the act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), entitled "An 2 act relating to the public school system, including certain 3 provisions applicable as well to private and parochial 4 schools; amending, revising, consolidating and changing the 5 laws relating thereto," requiring the Commonwealth to 6 reimburse school districts for certain transportation costs. 7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 8 hereby enacts as follows: 9 Section 1. The act of March 10, 1949 (P.L.30, No.14), known 10 as the "Public School Code of 1949," is amended by adding a 11 section to read: 12 Section 2541.1. Payments on Account of Special 13 Transportation Costs.--(a) The Commonwealth shall reimburse any 14 school district which incurred additional transportation costs 15 occasioned by longer routes due solely to the closing of OR <-- 16 WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS IMPOSED ON any road, bridge or highway by 17 the Commonwealth.
1 (b) The Commonwealth shall reimburse each school district 2 one hundred per centum (100%) of all APPROVED REIMBURSABLE costs <-- 3 as provided for in subsection (a). THIS SECTION SHALL NOT APPLY <-- 4 IF THE ADDITIONAL COSTS INCURRED ARE NOT THE RESULT OF 5 TRANSPORTING STUDENTS FOR MORE THAN TEN (10) SCHOOL DAYS. 6 Section 2.
