AN ACT
Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
Statutes, in special vehicles and pedestrians, further
providing for right-of-way of pedestrians in crosswalks and
for pedestrians crossing at other than crosswalks.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 3542(e) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended to read:
§ 3542. Right-of-way of pedestrians in crosswalks.

(e) Penalties.--
(1) The driver of a vehicle who violates subsection (a)
commits a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be
sentenced to pay a fine of $50.
(2) A pedestrian who violates subsection (b) while using
an interactive wireless communications device commits a
summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to
pay a fine of $25.
Section 2. Section 3543 of Title 75 is amended by adding a

subsection to read:
§ 3543. Pedestrians crossing at other than crosswalks.

(e) Penalties.--A pedestrian who violates any provision of
this section while using an interactive wireless communications
device commits a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be
sentenced to pay a fine of $25.
Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
