AN ACT
1 Amending Title 3 (Agriculture) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, providing for aquacultural development
3 applicability and for a program to gain sea grant status and <--
4 funding.
5 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
6 hereby enacts as follows:
7 Section 1. Section 4203 of Title 3 of the Pennsylvania
8 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a definition to read:
9 § 4203. Definitions.
10 The following words and phrases when used in this chapter
11 shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
12 context clearly indicates otherwise:

14 "Pet store." A commercial outlet engaged in the retail sale
15 of pets and related products to the public.

17 Section 2. Title 3 is amended by adding sections A SECTION <--
18 to read:
1 § 4204. Applicability.
2 This chapter does not apply to a pet store making a purely
3 retail sale or offer for sale of species of fish legally
4 approved for sale in this Commonwealth.
5 § 4224. Sea grant program. <--
6 The department shall coordinate development of a program for
7 the Commonwealth to gain sea grant status and funding from the
8 United States Department of Commerce. The administrative office
9 for this program shall be housed within the department and shall
10 include partnerships with Delaware Valley College, Mansfield
11 State University, The Pennsylvania State University and the
12 University of Pennsylvania.
13 Section 3. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
