                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending the act of May 27, 1937 (P.L.917), entitled "An act for
     2     the protection of the health and welfare of women and minors
     3     by regulating under the police power the minimum fair wages
     4     which shall be paid by employers; providing for wage boards,
     5     and defining the powers and duties of such boards, and of the
     6     Department of Labor and Industry; imposing duties on
     7     employers; providing for directory and mandatory orders on
     8     employers, and the publication of the names of employers who
     9     do not comply with such orders; exempting certain persons
    10     from the provisions of this act; and providing penalties,"
    11     reducing certain age requirements.

    12     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
    13  hereby enacts as follows:
    14     Section 1.  Clauses (4) and (5) of section 2, act of May 27,
    15  1937 (P.L.917), entitled "An act for the protection of the
    16  health and welfare of women and minors by regulating under the
    17  police power the minimum fair wages which shall be paid by
    18  employers; providing for wage boards, and defining the powers
    19  and duties of such boards, and of the Department of Labor and
    20  Industry; imposing duties on employers; providing for directory
    21  and mandatory orders on employers, and the publication of the
    22  names of employers who do not comply with such orders; exempting
    23  certain persons from the provisions of this act; and providing

     1  penalties," are amended to read:
     2     Section 2.  Definitions.--As used in this act--

     4     (4)  "Women" shall mean a female of [twenty-one] eighteen
     5  years, or over.
     6     (5)  "Minor" shall mean a person of either sex under the age
     7  of [twenty-one] eighteen years.
