        AS REPORTED FROM COMMITTEE ON TRANSPORTATION, HOUSE OF
           REPRESENTATIVES, AS AMENDED, JUNE 21, 2005

                                     AN ACT

     1  Designating SR 65 in the vicinity of Leetsdale, Allegheny
     2     County, as the James E. Russo Highway.

     3     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     4  hereby enacts as follows:
     5  Section 1.  James E. Russo Highway.
     6     (a)  Declaration of policy.--The General Assembly finds and
     7  declares that:
     8         (1)  James E. Russo served as an Allegheny County
     9     district justice for 29 years.
    10         (2)  Judge Russo was appointed Judge of the Commonwealth   <--
    11     Court of Municipal Discipline in 1998, the first nonattorney
    12     to serve in that capacity.
    13         (2)  JUDGE RUSSO WAS APPOINTED AS THE FIRST DISTRICT       <--
    14     JUSTICE TO SERVE ON THE FORMER JUDICIAL CONDUCT BOARD,
    15     PREDECESSOR TO THE COURT OF JUDICIAL DISCIPLINE OF

     1     PENNSYLVANIA, IN 1998.
     2     (b)  Designation.--State Route 65 in the vicinity of
     3  Leetsdale, Allegheny County, shall be designated as the James E.
     4  Russo Highway in honor of the late James E. Russo.
     5     (c)  Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
     6  maintain signs which shall display the name of the highway
     7  designated in subsection (b) at each end of the designated
     8  segment.
     9  Section 2.  Effective date.
    10     This act shall take effect in 60 days.
