AN ACT
1 Amending the act of April 29, 1959 (P.L.58, No.32), entitled "An
2 act consolidating and revising the Vehicle Code, the Tractor
3 Code, the Motor Vehicle Financial Responsibility Act and
4 other acts relating to the ownership, possession and use of
5 vehicles and tractors," providing for free annual
6 registration of a motor vehicle by a member of the
7 Pennsylvania National Guard.
8 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
9 hereby enacts as follows:
10 Section 1. Section 729, act of April 29, 1959 (P.L.58,
11 No.32), known as "The Vehicle Code," is amended by adding a
12 subsection to read:
13 Section 729. Exemptions from Fees.--

15 (j) No fee shall be charged for registration of one motor
16 vehicle titled in the name of a member of the Pennsylvania
17 National Guard or titled jointly with the member's spouse. This
18 exemption shall not apply to a commercial or income producing
19 vehicle or to any registration year in which the term of
20 enlistment of the member will expire. The person claiming this
21 exemption shall submit annually with the registration
1 application a written statement affirming membership in good
2 standing in the Pennsylvania National Guard.
3 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
