                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, requiring the Department of Transportation to
     3     establish, advertise and maintain a toll-free hotline for
     4     motorists to report incidents of road rage and to provide
     5     courses or counseling for drivers who exhibit road rage.

     6     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     7  hereby enacts as follows:
     8     Section 1.  Title 75 of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     9  Statutes is amended by adding a section to read:
    10  § 6118.  Toll-free hotline.
    11     (a)  General rule.--The department shall establish, advertise
    12  and maintain a toll-free hotline for motorists to report
    13  observations of road rage and shall provide courses or
    14  counseling for drivers who exhibit road rage.
    15     (b)  Definition.--As used in this section, the term "road
    16  rage" means an incident in which an angry or impatient motorist
    17  or passenger intentionally injures or kills another motorist,
    18  passenger or pedestrian, or attempts or threatens to injure or


     1  kill another motorist, passenger or pedestrian.
     2     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
