AN ACT 1 Amending the act of July 28, 1953 (P.L.723, No.230), entitled, 2 as amended, "An act relating to counties of the second class 3 and second class A; amending, revising, consolidating and 4 changing the laws relating thereto," authorizing 5 appropriations for county citizens' band radio base stations. 6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 7 hereby enacts as follows: 8 Section 1. Article XXI, act of July 28, 1953 (P.L.723, 9 No.230), known as the "Second Class County Code," is amended by 10 adding a subdivision to read: 11 ARTICLE XXI 12 Special Powers and Duties of the County 13 * * * 14 (xi) Citizens' Band Radio Base Station 15 Section 2199.19. Citizens' Band Radio.--The county 16 commissioners may appropriate funds for the establishment of a 17 county citizens' band radio base station for public service, 18 nonprofit use. Not more than one thousand dollars ($1,000) may 19 be appropriated annually for radio equipment and not more than
1 twelve hundred dollars ($1,200) may be appropriated annually for 2 rental of facilities to house the equipment in the event no 3 space is available in existing public buildings. Individuals 4 making use of such appropriation, including members of 5 organizations making use of such appropriation, shall not, by 6 virtue of this section, become employes or agents of counties 7 making such appropriation. Counties shall be immune from any 8 civil and criminal liability arising out of this section, out of 9 their election to make such appropriation, or out of the actions 10 or negligence of individuals making use of such appropriation, 11 including members of organizations making use of such 12 appropriation. 13 Section 2.
