                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, providing for the payment of a fee for the
     3     reinstatement of registration following a suspension for
     4     failure to provide the necessary insurance coverage.

     5     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     6  hereby enacts as follows:
     7     Section 1.  Title 75, act of November 25, 1970 (P.L.707,
     8  No.230), known as the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, is
     9  amended by adding sections to read:
    10  § 1748.  Reinstatement of registration following suspension
    11           for failure to provide financial responsibility.
    12     The department shall reinstate the registration of any
    13  vehicle suspended for not meeting the insurance requirements
    14  provided in section 104 of the act of July 19, 1974 (P.L.489,
    15  No.176), known as the "Pennsylvania No-fault Motor Vehicle
    16  Insurance Act," upon proof of meeting such requirements and upon
    17  payment of the fee specified in section 1933 (relating to
    18  reinstatement of suspended registration).
    19  § 1933.  Reinstatement of suspended registration.


     1     The fee for the reinstatement of the registration of any
     2  vehicle suspended for failure to comply with mandatory insurance
     3  requirements shall be $25.
     4     Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
