AN ACT
1 Amending the act of August 9, 1955 (P.L.323, No.130), entitled
2 "An act relating to counties of the third, fourth, fifth,
3 sixth, seventh and eighth classes; amending, revising,
4 consolidating and changing the laws relating thereto,"
5 further providing for the membership of the salary board.
6 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
7 hereby enacts as follows:
8 Section 1. Section 1622 of the act of August 9, 1955
9 (P.L.323, No.130), known as The County Code, is amended to read:
10 Section 1622. Salary Boards Created.--There is hereby
11 created in each county a salary board, which shall consist of
12 the three individual members of the board of county
13 commissioners and the county controller in counties where there
14 is a controller, or the county treasurer in counties where there
15 is no controller, and a person to be appointed by the president
16 judge of the court of common pleas. The chairman of the board of
17 county commissioners shall be chairman of the salary board. If
18 for any reason a tie vote occurs, then the tie-breaking vote
19 shall be cast by the person appointed by the president judge of
1 the court of common pleas. The board shall meet and organize on
2 the first Monday of January of each year.
3 Section 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
