AN ACT
1 To prohibit members of the General Assembly and officials of the
2 Executive Department from conducting regular radio or
3 television programs for pay.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Definitions.--As used in this act:
7 "Compensation" means any thing of economic value, however
8 designated which is paid, loaned, granted, given, donated or
9 transferred, or to be paid, loaned, granted, given, donated, or
10 transferred for or in consideration of services rendered.
11 "Member" includes a Senator, Representative, officer or
12 employee of the General Assembly or the Commonwealth or any
13 committee thereof; but not a person employed on a contractual
14 basis or without compensation for a particular project.
15 "Official" means any officer of the Executive Department of
16 the Commonwealth elected by the general public and any appointed
17 official who is required to be confirmed by the Senate.
18 Section 2. No member or official shall receive compensation
1 for conducting a regular radio or television program.
2 Section 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
