INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35, MAY 2, 2006
A RESOLUTION 1 Designating the week of May 15 through 21, 2006, as "Salvation 2 Army Week" in Pennsylvania. 3 WHEREAS, A love for God and a desire to help others is the 4 motivation behind the men and women of the Salvation Army; and 5 WHEREAS, The Salvation Army in this Commonwealth provides 6 much more than spiritual counseling and basic human necessities 7 to the needy and hurting on a daily basis; and 8 WHEREAS, The Salvation Army serves as a symbol of compassion, 9 but more so an active participant in the provision of services 10 to thousands of men, women and children; and 11 WHEREAS, The Salvation Army has been providing these programs 12 to residents for more than 125 years; and 13 WHEREAS, The Salvation Army provides its services to people
1 in need without regard to race, color, creed, sex or age; 2 therefore be it 3 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the 4 week of May 15 through 21, 2006, as "Salvation Army Week" in 5 Pennsylvania and urge all citizens to join in honoring the 6 dedicated men and women who work or volunteer for this fine 7 organization and touch the lives of so many.
