        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           APRIL 20, 2004

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Designating the week of May 10 through 16, 2004, as "Salvation
     2     Army Week" in Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, The Salvation Army's work in this Commonwealth, as
     4  everywhere, is undertaken with joy, for the benefit of mankind
     5  and for the greater glory of God; and
     6     WHEREAS, Through sound, innovative and professional services,
     7  the Salvation Army serves the people of this Commonwealth with
     8  unshakable faith, no matter how desperate the situation, and
     9  views all people as people with possibilities; and
    10     WHEREAS, The Salvation Army act on behalf of, and welcomes

     1  the support of, all residents of our Commonwealth; therefore be
     2  it
     3     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives designate the
     4  week of May 10 through 16, 2004, as "Salvation Army Week" in
     5  Pennsylvania and urge all citizens to join in saluting the
     6  steadfast men and women who pursue their quiet service of
     7  compassion.
