AN ACT
Amending the act of April 6, 1951 (P.L.69, No.20), entitled "An
act relating to the rights, obligations and liabilities of
landlord and tenant and of parties dealing with them and
amending, revising, changing and consolidating the law
relating thereto," in tenement buildings and multiple
dwelling premises, providing for lead testing requirements.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. The act of April 6, 1951 (P.L.69, No.20), known
as The Landlord and Tenant Act of 1951, is amended by adding a
subsection to read:
Section 506-A. Lead Testing Requirements.--Notwithstanding
42 U.S.C. Ch. 63A (relating to residential lead-based paint
hazard reduction) or any other law to the contrary:
(1) A lead test must be conducted for the following
properties built prior to 1978:
(i) each dwelling unit in tenement buildings;
(ii) each dwelling in multiple dwelling premises;
