INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,

A RESOLUTION
Paying tribute to the persons who lost their lives during the
Paris terror attacks and extending deepest condolences to the
families and friends of the victims in their time of
mourning.
WHEREAS, On Friday, November 13, 2015, many Parisians,
expatriates and tourists, while enjoying a warm fall evening
with family and friends in the French capital, became victims of
an unprecedented terror attack on French soil; and
WHEREAS, Beginning around 9:20 p.m. Paris time, eight
terrorists attacked, killed and injured hundreds of innocent
civilians from 19 different nations at public locations that
included a stadium, two restaurants, two bars, one café and one
concert hall; and
WHEREAS, According to Paris officials, at least 130 people
have died and many more have been injured; and

WHEREAS, The ongoing investigation into the atrocities has
resulted in numerous raids in Belgium and France as well as
coordination of intelligence related to the terrorists who
executed the attacks; and
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania denounces terrorists' use of fear and intimidation
to further political goals; and
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania notes the imperative of honoring innocent victims
and survivors by showing support and strength in response to
terrorism; and
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania joins family members and friends of the fallen in
mourning their loss and expresses its support for survivors who
are recovering from injury and trauma; and
WHEREAS, The House of Representatives of the Commonwealth of
Pennsylvania salutes the French people who endure in keeping
with the phrase "Vive la France"; and
WHEREAS, As the French people stood with the American people
in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001, terror attacks, the
people of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania now show solidarity
with all persons affected by the violence and tragic deaths in
the City of Light; therefore be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania pay tribute to the persons who lost
their lives during the Paris terror attacks; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania extend its deepest condolences to
the families and friends of the victims in their time of
mourning; and be it further
