A RESOLUTION
1 Congratulating the members and the coaching staff of the Nittany
2 Lions men's gymnastics team on winning the 2000 NCAA Men's
3 Gymnastics Championship.
4 WHEREAS, The Penn State Nittany Lions men's gymnastics team
5 recently captured the NCAA Men's Gymnastics Championship; and
6 WHEREAS, This is the first time since 1976 that the Nittany
7 Lions have been the NCAA Men's Gymnastics Champions; and
8 WHEREAS, The Nittany Lions had to struggle, coming from
9 behind in fourth place after Iowa, Michigan and California, to
10 capture the championship; and
11 WHEREAS, Senior Brandon Stefaniak led the team's efforts by
12 garnering a near-perfect 9.95 on the pommel horse and tying four
13 other gymnasts for first place; and
14 WHEREAS, This stunning come-from-behind victory marks the
15 10th men's gymnastics title since 1938; therefore be it
16 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives extend its
17 congratulations to all of the members and the coaching staff of
18 the Penn State Nittany Lions men's gymnastics team.
