AN ACT
1 Amending Title 75 (Vehicles) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
2 Statutes, exempting hybrid electric vehicles from the
3 requirement for periodic inspection of vehicles.
4 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5 hereby enacts as follows:
6 Section 1. Section 4702(g) of Title 75 of the Pennsylvania
7 Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a paragraph to read:
8 § 4702. Requirement for periodic inspection of vehicles.

10 (g) Exceptions.--The following are exceptions to subsection
11 (f):

13 (5) Emission inspection criteria for hybrid electric
14 vehicles.--A hybrid electric vehicle which has a city fuel
15 economy rating of 40 miles per gallon or better in accordance
16 with the Environmental Protection Agency Fuel Economy Guide
1 shall be exempt from the requirements for emission
2 inspection.
3 Section 2. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
