        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           MAY 29, 2007

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Recognizing July 21, 2007, as "Convoy of Hope Day" in
     2     Pennsylvania.

     3     WHEREAS, "Convoy of Hope Day" is a day to recognize local
     4  businesses, churches and community organizations helping
     5  families who are less fortunate; and
     6     WHEREAS, Convoy of Hope, a nonprofit organization, provides
     7  food, water, disaster relief, community resources, health fairs,
     8  activities for children and supply lines and outreach for
     9  hurting and underprivileged individuals and families in
    10  communities throughout the United States and around the world;
    11  and
    12     WHEREAS, Convoy of Hope partners with local organizations and
    13  churches across racial and denominational lines to unite
    14  communities, provide long-term support, resources and
    15  encouragement and bring hope to thousands of individuals and
    16  families; and
    17     WHEREAS, The House of Representatives welcomes the Convoy of


     1  Hope to Harrisburg, applauds its call for unity and its message
     2  of hope and salutes its wonderful work, which has reached across
     3  racial and economic lines; therefore be it
     4     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize July
     5  21, 2007, as "Convoy of Hope Day" in Pennsylvania and call upon
     6  the people of this Commonwealth to participate in helping
     7  hurting and underprivileged individuals and families in our
     8  communities.
