                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Memorializing Congress to review the current foreclosure
     2     practice of the Farmers Home Administration.

     3     WHEREAS, The Farmers Home Administration was created to
     4  assist low-income rural residents towards purchasing homes; and
     5     WHEREAS, The FHA has in Pennsylvania and in other states
     6  implemented foreclosure practices that appear to be more
     7  restrictive than local lending institutions; and
     8     WHEREAS, This policy has resulted in mortgage foreclosures of
     9  homeowners who are disabled, unemployed or underemployed through
    10  no fault of their own and in many instances these homeowners are
    11  continuing to make payments towards principal and/or interest;
    12  and
    13     WHEREAS, This practice appears to be in contradiction to the
    14  original intent of the FHA; therefore be it
    15     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives memorialize the
    16  United States Congress to review the current foreclosure
    17  practice of the Farmers Home Mortgage Administration; and be it

     2     RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be transmitted to
     3  the presiding officers of each house of Congress and to each
     4  member of Congress from Pennsylvania.
