AN ACT 1 Amending the act of July 28, 1953 (P.L.723, No.230), entitled, 2 as amended, "An act relating to counties of the second class 3 and second class A; amending, revising, consolidating and 4 changing the laws relating thereto," discontinuing the 5 requirement that counties pay part of the cost of the food 6 stamp program. 7 The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania 8 hereby enacts as follows: 9 Section 1. Section 2198.1, act of July 28, 1953 (P.L.723, 10 No.230), known as the "Second Class County Code," added December 11 1, 1965 (P.L.978, No.359), is amended to read: 12 Section 2198.1. Food Stamp Program.--The board of 13 commissioners of any county of the second class may by 14 resolution adopt the food stamp program. Upon adoption of the 15 program the county shall appropriate money and shall pay, 16 quarterly from county funds, the amounts certified to the county 17 as being the obligations to the Department of Public Welfare for 18 thirty percent of the amount expended by the department for 19 administration of the food stamp program for the county during
1 the fiscal year 1965-1966, for forty percent of the amount 2 expended during the fiscal year 1966-1967 and for fifty percent 3 of the amount expended during the fiscal [year] years 1967-1968 4 [and thereafter] through 1974-1975 and the six-month period 5 ending December 31, 1975. 6 Section 2.
