        INTRODUCED AS NONCONTROVERSIAL RESOLUTION UNDER RULE 35,
           APRIL 30, 2001

                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Commending The Pennsylvania State University fencing team on a
     2     highly successful season.

     3     WHEREAS, The Penn State fencing team finished second at the
     4  NCAA Championships held at the University of Wisconsin -
     5  Parkside; and
     6     WHEREAS, The Nittany Lions missed winning their seventh
     7  consecutive title by losing to St. John's, 172 points to 180
     8  points; and
     9     WHEREAS, The Nittany Lions' fencing team was led by first
    10  team All-Americans Stephanie Eim, Nontapat Panchan, Marta
    11  Grochal and Adam Wiercioch, all of whom will be returning for
    12  next season; and
    13     WHEREAS, The Penn State fencing program has had a great past
    14  and appears to have an even greater future; therefore be it
    15     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives commend The
    16  Pennsylvania State University fencing team on an outstanding
    17  season and extend best wishes for continued success in the

     1  future.
