In the House of Representatives, October 30, 1979
1 WHEREAS, Representative Matthew J. Cianciulli was tried and
2 convicted by the court and a jury in the United States District
3 Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania for violations of
4 Title 42, United States Code, § 1973(i) and Title 18, United
5 States Code, §§ 2 and 241; and
6 WHEREAS, Sentence pursuant to a finding of guilty was imposed
7 by court on October 25, 1979; and
8 WHEREAS, Pursuant to Article II, section 9 of the <--
9 Constitution of Pennsylvania, the House of Representatives has
10 the exclusive power and authority to judge the qualifications of
11 its members; and
12 WHEREAS, Pursuant to Article II, section 11 of the
13 Constitution of Pennsylvania, the House of Representatives has
14 the exclusive power to expel its members; therefore be it
15 RESOLVED, That pursuant to the powers granted to the House of
16 Representatives under Article II, sections 9 and SECTION 11 of <--
1 the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the House
2 of Representatives does hereby expel Matthew J. Cianciulli as a
3 member of the House of Representatives of Pennsylvania.
