        INTRODUCED BY BELFANTI, DeWEESE, CORDISCO, PETRONE, DeMEDIO AND
           LIVENGOOD, DECEMBER 16, 1981

        REFERRED TO COMMITTEE ON FEDERAL-STATE RELATIONS,
           DECEMBER 16, 1981

                     In the House of Representatives, December 16, 1981,

     1     WHEREAS, The United States Government provides part-time job
     2  opportunities to older workers under the Older American Act; and
     3     WHEREAS, Present eligibility guidelines under the Older
     4  American Act require that individual annual income be less than
     5  $5,388 per year and a family of two income be less than $7,113;
     6  and
     7     WHEREAS, Many older veterans seeking part-time employment
     8  receive military retirement pay, disability compensation and/or
     9  other sources of income that make them financially ineligible
    10  for these job opportunities; and
    11     WHEREAS, Over recent years continued high inflation has
    12  significantly reduced the buying power of the dollar; now
    13  therefore be it
    14     RESOLVED, That the Pennsylvania House of Representatives
    15  memorialize the President of the United States and Congress of
    16  the United States to enact legislation amending the financial


     1  guidelines under the Older American Act. To increase the annual
     2  income limitation to $7,500 for an individual and $10,000 for a
     3  family of two; and be it further
     4     RESOLVED, That copies of this document be transmitted to the
     5  President of the United States, the Speaker of the House of
     6  Representatives, the President of the Senate and each Senator
     7  and Congressmen from Pennsylvania.
