                                     AN ACT

     1  Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated
     2     Statutes, further providing for the production of
     3     satisfactory positive identification.

     4     The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     5  hereby enacts as follows:
     6     Section 1.  Section 901(a)(14) of Title 34 of the
     7  Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, amended December 19, 1996
     8  (P.L.    , No.184), is amended to read:
     9  § 901.  Powers and duties of enforcement officers.
    10     (a)  Powers.--Any officer whose duty it is to enforce this
    11  title or any officer investigating any alleged violation of this
    12  title shall have the power and duty to:

    14         (14)  Demand and secure identification from any person,
    15     subject to the limitation that that person shall have 24
    16     hours from the time of the demand to produce satisfactory
    17     positive identification.

     2     Section 2.  Section 2711 of Title 34 is amended to read:
     3  § 2711.  Unlawful acts concerning licenses.
     4     (a)  General rule.--Except as otherwise provided in this
     5  title, it is unlawful for any person to:
     6         * * *
     7         (12)  While exercising any of the privileges granted by
     8     any license provided for in this title, refuse or fail to
     9     satisfactorily provide positive identification to [any]:
    10             (i)  any landowner upon whose land that person may be
    11         occupying [or to any officer whose duty it is to enforce
    12         this title.]; or
    13             (ii)  any officer whose duty it is to enforce this
    14         title subject to the limitation in section 901(14)
    15         (relating to powers and duties of enforcement officers).

    17     Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 1997.
