                                  A RESOLUTION

     1  Proclaiming June 15, 1991, as "Americanism Day" in Pennsylvania.

     2     WHEREAS, Our national legacy and the pride in that legacy is
     3  represented by the American Flag; and
     4     WHEREAS, We view that flag with devotion, for it represents
     5  our national heritage of noble deeds, splendid accomplishments
     6  and untold sacrifices which combined to establish the moral
     7  character of our national foundation. Our flag is a symbol that
     8  makes our past one with the present and makes the present a
     9  prophecy for tomorrow; and
    10     WHEREAS, Our national legacy, our accomplishments, our
    11  sacrifices and the moral character of our country should be
    12  observed by all citizens in an appropriate manner; and
    13     WHEREAS, The American Flag is a living reminder of our
    14  greatness as a nation of citizens dedicated to liberty, justice
    15  and freedom for all; and
    16     WHEREAS, The American Flag is a symbol everywhere in the
    17  world to those who desire freedom; and

     1     WHEREAS, Many Americans have served their country in armed
     2  conflict, in Operation Desert Storm and in other military
     3  operations; and
     4     WHEREAS, It is important to further the ideals and spirit for
     5  which the United States of America stands; therefore be it
     6     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives hereby proclaims
     7  June 15, 1991, as "Americanism Day" in Pennsylvania; and be it
     8  further
     9     RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives urge all citizens
    10  to celebrate this day by displaying the American Flag in support
    11  of the United States of America.
