AMENDMENTS TO SENATE BILL NO. 1019

Amend Bill, page 2, line 4, by inserting after "interests;"
in grants to fire companies and emergency medical services
companies, further providing for award of grants;
Amend Bill, page 92, by inserting between lines 15 and 16
Section 13. Section 7813(c) of Title 35 is amended by adding
a paragraph to read:
ยง 7813. Award of grants.

(c) Time for filing application and department action.--
* * *
(3) Notwithstanding paragraph (2), for the fiscal year
beginning July 1, 2017, the agency may approve a grant
application and make a grant award to a fire company that has
submitted an application after the application submission
deadline if:
(i) A fter the agency has made all grant awards
pursuant to approved, timely filed applications, f unds
appropriated by the General Assembly for grant awards
under this subchapter remain available. If the total
dollar amount of approved applications under this
paragraph exceeds the amount of funds remaining
available, grants may be awarded on a pro rata basis.
(ii) The fire company is otherwise eligible to
receive a grant under this subchapter.
