8(a) Findings.--

9(1) Private First Class Donald Ray Lucas was born on
10September 6, 1948, and was a native of Centre Hall,
11Pennsylvania.

12(2) PFC Lucas began his sole tour of duty in Vietnam on
13November 15, 1968, as a member of the United States Marine
14Corps.

15(3) PFC Lucas was awarded the Purple Heart, the National
16Defense Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam
17Campaign Medal and the Combat Action Ribbon.

18(4) On January 12, 1969, PFC Lucas made the ultimate
19sacrifice in selfless service to his nation during combat
20operations in Quang Nam Province.

21(b) Designation.--The section of Pennsylvania Route 144 in
22Centre County from Old Fort to Potters Mills is hereby
23designated the PFC Donald Ray Lucas Memorial Highway.

24(c) Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and
25maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the highway to
26traffic in both directions on the highway.
