Subject:	Resolution: Respiratory Care Week In Pennsylvania

In the near future, I intend to offer a resolution to recognize the week of October 25 - 31, 2016, as "Respiratory Care Week in Pennsylvania". Respiratory therapists are the only allied health practitioners specifically trained to assist physicians in the care of respiratory patients. Across Pennsylvania, respiratory therapists assist with diagnostic procedures, administer oxygen and breathing treatments, conduct pulmonary therapy, teach home care to patients and family members and provide acute care for patients on respirators. I hope you will join me in recognizing October 25 through October 31 as Respiratory Care Week in Pennsylvania and celebrate the contribution that respiratory therapists make to Pennsylvania's and our nation’s healthcare system.
