Subject: | Resolution Honoring Fight Crime: Invest in Kids 20th Anniversary |
In the very near future, I will be introducing a resolution recognizing the 20th anniversary of the Fight Crime: Invest in Kids organization. The Fight Crime: Invest in Kids organization was started in 1996 and has collaborated with police chiefs, sheriffs, district attorneys and other law enforcement leaders across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to promote policies that protect public safety through evidence based investments in children and families. Since its inception, its membership has grown from a handful of Pennsylvania law enforcement leaders to now almost 200 individuals from all parts of the Commonwealth. The Fight Crime: Invest in Kids organization is a leading voice for investments in proven crime-prevention initiatives such as high quality pre-kindergarten, voluntary home visiting for vulnerable families, assistance in accessing high quality child care for working families, juvenile diversion programs and after school programs. |
