Subject: Memo #16 -- Resolution marking Nurse Practitioner Week
 
In the near future, I plan to introduce a Senate resolution declaring November 8-14, 2015, as Nurse Practitioner Week in Pennsylvania.

There are approximately 9,500 nurse practitioners practicing in this Commonwealth. They order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests, diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions, and prescribe medications and other treatments. Nurse practitioners are truly partners in the health care of their patients promoting disease prevention, health education and counseling, and smart health and lifestyle choices.
