Senate of Pennsylvania
Session of 2015 - 2016 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: May 11, 2015 03:45 PM
From: Senator Scott E. Hutchinson
To: All Senate members
Subject: Recognizing the 50th Anniversary of PennTAP

In the near future, I plan on introducing a resolution honoring the Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program and recognizing June 2, 2015 as their 50th anniversary.

A program of Pennsylvania State University, PennTAP is a federal-state-university partnership for economic development. Helping Pennsylvania firms statewide since 1965, PennTAP is one of the nation's first technical assistance programs and remains a credible and valuable resource for helping Pennsylvania companies compete and grow.

PennTAP helps Pennsylvania companies improve their competitiveness by providing technical assistance and information to help resolve specific technical questions or needs, and services the entire state of Pennsylvania through a network of technical advisers who have specific areas of technical expertise.

The program focuses on helping smaller firms that normally do not have the in-house expertise or resources to resolve specific technology questions or needs. PennTAP technical advisers assist small companies by providing technical advice, technical information, and connections to other expertise, resources, or programs.

I hope that you will join me in co-sponsoring this important resolution.

If you have any questions regarding this resolution, please contact Nathan Akers in my office at 787-9684 or nakers@pasen.gov.
