Subject:	Resolution Recognizing April 14, 2015 as the Observance of Vaisakhi in Pennsylvania

Please join me in co-sponsoring a resolution recognizing April 14, 2015, as the observance of Vaisakhi in Pennsylvania. The holiday of Vaisakhi is observed by Sikhs around the world, celebrating the spring harvest and commemorating the 1699 gathering at Anandpur Sahib in Punjab, India, when the founding of the Sikh family of soldier saints known as Khalsa Panth occurred. Sikhs have made many valuable contributions to our state and our nation. Please join me in celebrating the Sikh community of Pennsylvania, an important part of the rich cultural fabric of our Commonwealth.
