Senate of Pennsylvania
Session of 2015 - 2016 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: December 9, 2014 01:18 PM
From: Senator Jay Costa
To: All Senate members
Subject: Unlawful use of tracking technology

In the near future I will be introducing legislation to make it unlawful for any person to utilize tracking technology without lawful authority or consent. The legislation will amend both the offense of stalking and the Wiretap Act in Title 18 to prohibit the unauthorized use of such technology to remotely determine or track the position and movements of another person. Several states have enacted similar legislation including New York, Texas, California, Illinois, Virginia and Delaware.

Please join me in sponsoring this legislation.

Introduced as SB854
