Senate of Pennsylvania
Session of 2013 - 2014 Regular Session

MEMORANDUM

Posted: April 16, 2013 08:43 AM
From: Senator Mike Folmer
To: All Senate members
Subject: Elimination of Senator's Signatures on Notary Applications

Shortly, I plan to introduce legislation to eliminate the requirement Notary Public applications be endorsed by the Senator of the district in which they reside (or work).

My legislation will help to promote government efficiency as no value-added benefit has been identified by having State Senators sign notary applications. Only three other states require a state legislator’s signature in order to become a Notary Public.

If you have any questions, please contact Fallon Binner at 787-5708 or fbinner@pasen.gov.
