Subject: Plan for PA--Real Estate Taxes on Natural Gas Developers
 
As part of the Plan for Pennsylvania, I will soon introduce legislation that would allow leases or other agreements that are subject to the Oil and Gas Lease Act of 1979 to be applicable to the real estate taxes of our Commonwealth’s political subdivisions. My bill will also give political subdivisions the ability to lessen their property taxes on all of their property tax payers by utilizing the new revenue to bring down rates. This bill is a means for the natural gas industry to pay their fair share and invest in the communities it makes its money in while also providing a tax break to the property owners across the Commonwealth.
