MEMORANDUM

Posted: July 7, 2017 12:06 PM
From: Representative Fred Keller
To: All House members
Subject: Legislation to provide examination required for falconry permits be made available during the entire calendar year

In the near future, I plan to introduce legislation amending the Pennsylvania Game and Wildlife Code, to provide that the examination required for falconry permits be made available to prospective applicants during the entire calendar year.

Currently, the examination required to be taken as part of the application process for a falconry permit is only available from the Pennsylvania Game Commission between January 1 and June 30 of each year, per commission regulations. Anyone wishing to take the exam after June 30 must wait until the next January comes around. I believe this examination should be available to prospective applicants throughout the entire year, and those wishing to take the exam after June 30 should not have to wait up to six months to do so.

The PGC is supportive of this proposal, which will add convenience and simplicity to the process of applying for and obtaining a falconry permit.

Please consider co-sponsoring this legislation. Thank you.
