Subject: | Reduced Fee Hunting Licenses for Nonresident Disabled Veterans |
It is my intention to introduce legislation amending Title 34 (Game) allowing for the extension of the reduced fee for hunting and furtaking licenses to non-resident disabled veterans and former prisoners of war. Under current law, a Pennsylvania veteran who is 100% disabled or has lost the use of one or more limbs due to service in the military, is eligible for a free hunting and furtaking license. Prisoners of War and those veterans who possess a disability rating between 60% and 99% due to an injury incurred during service are eligible for a hunting or furtaking license at the cost of one dollar. Non-profit organizations, which offer hunting opportunities to wounded veterans, have incurred higher costs when obtaining licenses for non-resident disabled veterans. I would appreciate if you could join me in cosponsoring this very important piece of legislation that would greatly benefit our disabled veterans who fought for our country. |
