Subject: | Composition of the Pennsylvania Game Commission |
In the near future, I will be introducing legislation that would prevent current or former Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) employees or deputy conservation officers from serving as appointed PGC commissioners. Under my bill, current and former employees or deputy conservation officers of the commission would not be permitted to serve as PGC commissioners. Additionally, in all wildlife management decisions, the commissioners would be guided by the principles of best management practices, with equal regard for the social, economic and recreational impacts of their decisions. This proposal would allow for a more independent Board of Commissioners with a broader range of focus on wildlife conservation and restoration. I hope you will join me by co-sponsoring this legislation. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
