Subject: Pennsylvania Veterans Day of Caring
 
Colleagues,

I will be introducing a resolution which designates Saturday, November 12, 2016 as “Pennsylvania Veterans Day of Caring” in the Commonwealth. The goal of this day is to “give back” to our state’s veterans by performing helpful and kind acts for those in need. There are nearly one million veterans residing in the state of Pennsylvania. This day is designed to honor these military heroes for the sacrifices they made for the country and to promote volunteerism. This idea was suggested to me by a constituent who thought a day of helping out veterans might be a good way of honoring their service.

I hope that you will join me in sponsoring this important initiative.
