Subject: | Veterans Day at the Capitol 2015 |
As the Chairs of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, we are pleased to introduce a resolution that would recognize June 10, 2015 as “Veterans Day at the Capitol 2015” in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This day will highlight the accomplishments and needs of Pennsylvania’s Veterans, as well as continue to raise awareness of the issues faced by and benefits available to Veterans while residing in our state. The event is being coordinated by The Pennsylvania State Veterans Commission, which is comprised of representatives from 15 different statewide Veterans’ organizations. The organizations will present exhibits, displays, and manned tables that will provide information and assistance to Veterans, state legislators, and the general public. Most importantly, this event gives us the opportunity to learn more about Pennsylvania’s Veteran community and what they bring collectively to our Commonwealth. Pennsylvanians have played an integral role in military service to our nation and, as we are sure you would agree, deserve our utmost respect. We hope that you can join us in recognizing the sacrifice and continuing dedication of our Commonwealth’s Veterans by supporting Veterans Day at the Capitol 2015. Please join us in cosponsoring this resolution. |
