Subject:	Co-sponsorship: Elder Abuse Bills

In the near future, I plan to introduce a package of bills that will protect our seniors from potential abuse. My bills would do the following:

Introduced as HB646

Description:	My first bill requires the Pennsylvania Commission on Sentencing to provide a sentencing enhancement for a violation of the neglect of a care dependent person that results in the victim’s death.

Introduced as HB647

Description:	My second bill amends the ‘Older Adults Protective Services Act’ to add a definition for “serious financial fraud”, to address situations where intentional acts of deception involving financial transactions such as lottery, email, and mail schemes occur. Please join me in cosponsoring one or both of these bills, which will help protect our seniors from potential abuse.
