MEMORANDUM

Posted: January 15, 2015 03:06 PM
From: Representative Will Tallman
To: All House members
Subject: Amending the Emergency and Law Enforcement Personnel Death Benefits Act

In the near future, I will be introducing legislation amending Act 101 of 1976, known as the Emergency and Law Enforcement Personnel Death Benefits Act.

My proposal will amend the act to extend the filing period for the death benefit from 90 days to 3-years; which will put the state’s filing period in line with the federal Public Safety Officers’ Death and Disability Benefits Program.

This simple change to the act will go a long way in making it easier for the family members to deal with their loss when a member of the military or first responder organization dies in the line of duty.

Please join me in sponsoring this legislation.

If you have any questions please contact Carol Hoffman at choffman@pahousegop.com or by phone (717) 783-8875.
