Subject: | Community Respite Services Program Act |
In the near future I will be introducing legislation to authorize a new affordable tool to help aging Pennsylvanians live safely at home through the Community Respite Services Program Act. Community Respite Service Programs would provide services for individuals who need more than the normal scope of services offered at senior centers, but not the full attention of licensed Adult Day Centers. This legislation will provide for appropriate safeguards and standards of care, and ensure that such programs would be overseen by the local Area Agencies on Aging. The Community Respite Services Program Act is based on a successful pilot program that has been operating in southern Chester County for several years, and has been found by families to be a valuable link in the effort to provide a continuum of care for aging family members who are gradually becoming increasingly fragile. Please join me in cosponsoring this important legislation. |
